Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 September 2026

DataRevenueLab helps businesses understand the potential commercial value of their data and explore opportunities to license eligible data for artificial intelligence development and related uses.

We take privacy, confidentiality and responsible data handling seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, shared and protected when you use the DataRevenueLab website, complete a business data assessment, contact us or otherwise interact with our services.

The initial DataRevenueLab assessment is designed to collect descriptive information about your business and data assets. You should not upload raw datasets, customer records, passwords, credentials, confidential documents or sensitive personal information during the initial assessment.

1. Information We Collect

We may collect information that you provide directly to us, including:

  • your name;
  • business or work email address;
  • company or organisation name;
  • job title or business role;
  • contact information;
  • information submitted through contact forms;
  • responses submitted through the Business Data Assessment;
  • descriptions of your organisation's systems, data types, data volumes, data history, ownership status and potential licensing readiness;
  • communications between you and DataRevenueLab; and
  • other information you choose to provide.

The initial assessment is intended for descriptive information only and does not require the upload of raw business datasets.

2. Information Collected Automatically

When you use the website, certain technical information may be collected automatically by our hosting, security and infrastructure providers. This may include:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • device type;
  • operating system;
  • referring pages;
  • pages visited;
  • approximate request time;
  • diagnostic information; and
  • security and server logs.

This information may be used to operate, secure, maintain and improve the website.

DataRevenueLab is not currently implementing optional advertising or behavioural-tracking cookie preferences on the website.

3. How We Use Information

We may use information collected through DataRevenueLab to:

  • provide and operate the website;
  • process Business Data Assessment submissions;
  • evaluate the potential suitability and commercial readiness of business data;
  • generate indicative or directional data-value assessments;
  • communicate with businesses and prospective partners;
  • respond to questions and support requests;
  • identify relevant data licensing or sourcing opportunities;
  • conduct rights, ownership, privacy and eligibility discussions;
  • improve our services, assessment process and website;
  • protect against fraud, misuse, security threats and abuse;
  • maintain internal business records; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not treat an assessment result as a guaranteed valuation, licensing agreement, buyer commitment or promise of payment.

4. Business Data Assessments

The Business Data Assessment is an initial evaluation tool.

During this stage, DataRevenueLab may ask for descriptive information about:

  • systems used by your organisation;
  • types of data generated;
  • approximate volumes;
  • historical depth;
  • data ownership;
  • data freshness;
  • business industry;
  • permitted uses; and
  • other information relevant to determining data licensing potential.

You should not submit raw datasets or information that you do not have authority to disclose.

Any request for actual datasets, samples, exports, access credentials or detailed confidential materials would be handled separately and subject to appropriate commercial, confidentiality, privacy and data-handling arrangements.

5. Data Ownership

Submitting information through DataRevenueLab does not transfer ownership of your underlying business data to DataRevenueLab.

Businesses and data owners retain ownership of their underlying materials unless expressly agreed otherwise in a separate written agreement.

Any future licensing, preparation, transfer or commercial use of business data will be governed by separate agreed terms.

6. Information Sharing

We do not sell your contact information as a consumer marketing list.

We may share information where reasonably necessary with:

  • service providers supporting website hosting, email, infrastructure, security or business operations;
  • professional advisers;
  • contractors working on behalf of DataRevenueLab;
  • potential commercial or data partners where appropriate and where information can lawfully be disclosed;
  • regulators, law-enforcement authorities or other parties where disclosure is legally required; and
  • parties involved in a business reorganisation, acquisition, financing or similar transaction.

Detailed confidential information or business datasets will not be commercially licensed merely because an initial assessment was submitted.

Commercial data licensing requires further evaluation and appropriate agreements.

7. Data Licensing and Potential Buyers

DataRevenueLab may help connect eligible data owners with organisations seeking permissioned data for AI development, model training, evaluation, research or related applications.

Completing an assessment does not automatically authorise DataRevenueLab to transfer, sell or license your underlying data.

Where an opportunity progresses, matters such as permitted use, compensation, ownership, confidentiality, exclusivity, security, preparation requirements and delivery conditions should be agreed before a commercial transfer takes place.

8. Confidentiality and Sensitive Information

Do not submit through public website forms:

  • passwords;
  • API keys;
  • authentication credentials;
  • banking credentials;
  • government identification numbers;
  • confidential customer records;
  • protected health information;
  • highly sensitive personal information;
  • proprietary source files;
  • trade secrets;
  • raw datasets; or
  • information you do not have authority to disclose.

If sensitive or confidential information is required during a later stage of an engagement, appropriate safeguards should first be agreed.

9. Data Security

DataRevenueLab uses reasonable administrative, organisational and technical measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

However, no internet transmission, storage platform or security system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users should therefore avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information through public website forms.

10. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • respond to enquiries;
  • evaluate potential data opportunities;
  • maintain business records;
  • provide requested services;
  • resolve disputes;
  • maintain website security; and
  • satisfy applicable legal or contractual obligations.

Information that is no longer reasonably required may be deleted or anonymised where appropriate.

11. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you are located and the laws that apply, you may have rights relating to personal information, including the ability to request:

  • access to personal information;
  • correction of inaccurate information;
  • deletion of certain information;
  • restriction of certain processing;
  • information about how your personal information is used; or
  • withdrawal of consent where processing depends on consent.

12. International Processing

DataRevenueLab may work with service providers, infrastructure providers, clients, businesses and partners located in different countries.

As a result, information may be processed or stored outside the country in which it was originally provided.

Where appropriate, reasonable safeguards should be used for international processing and transfer.

13. Third-Party Services and Links

The DataRevenueLab website may contain links to external websites, platforms or services.
